Troubleshoot common problems

Check in order from hardware → iLA VAD → idolLiveAudio → streaming app. This isolates the failing stage faster.

No microphone audio

The Vocal meter does not move.

  1. Check microphone power, cable/input, and hardware gain.
  2. In iLA VAD > Routing, choose the correct input for Vocal 1.
  3. In idolLiveAudio, choose the matching Vocal 1 L or R (Mono) channel.
  4. Temporarily bypass the plugin chain. If the meter returns, enable plugins one at a time to find the one muting audio.

Micro works but music is missing

The Music meter does not move.

  1. In Windows Sound Settings, set the music app's output to iLA Music Send.
  2. Check whether the music app overrides the Windows default output.
  3. In idolLiveAudio, select Music L / Music R (Stereo) and unmute Music.

Clicks, pops, or dropouts

Audio becomes unstable during loud vocals or heavy plugin use.

  1. Reduce input gain. If the signal clips before plugins, a larger buffer cannot repair the distortion.
  2. Raise the buffer to 256 samples. If it continues, try 512 to confirm whether real-time load is the cause.
  3. Match sample rates. The interface, iLA VAD, idolLiveAudio, and OBS/TikTok should all use 48 kHz or another common supported value.
  4. Bypass plugins one by one. Pay attention to oversampling, lookahead, and CPU-heavy plugins.
  5. Cross-check the microphone, cable, and input. If the same chain fails only with one microphone or device, the hardware may be the cause rather than the Audio Engine.

idolLiveAudio has audio but OBS/TikTok does not

Virtual iLA Mic

  1. Enable Virtual iLA Mic in iLA VAD > Routing.
  2. Choose Virtual iLA Mic as the Audio Input Capture/Microphone in the streaming app.
  3. Check Windows microphone permission for the streaming app.
  4. Remove or mute the old physical-microphone source to avoid duplicate audio.

Account or v2 license error

iLA Nexus

  1. Connect to the Internet, open iLA Nexus, and sign in to the correct account.
  2. Choose Refresh and confirm the product shows Licensed (v2).
  3. Enable automatic Windows date and time if the PC clock is wrong.
  4. You do not need to reinstall the driver just to refresh a license.

iLA VAD update failed

A driver is already installed or files are in use.

  1. Update iLA Nexus first.
  2. Close idolLiveAudio, OBS, TikTok LIVE Studio, DAWs, and the iLA VAD Control Panel.
  3. In iLA Nexus, choose Update for iLA VAD and accept Administrator access.
  4. If Windows requests a restart, reboot and then choose Refresh in Nexus.
Do not manually remove the driver first

The current installer detects clean install, upgrade, or repair. Use Uninstall only when support asks you to.
