Plugin & Preset

Create a reliable sound, save it once, and recall it quickly in every live session.

1

VST3

Scan installed plugins

Install the VST3 plugin and its vendor license first. In idolLiveAudio, choose Scan System for Plugins. The first scan can take several minutes on a PC with many plugins.

  • Add only trusted plugins you have tested.
  • Missing plugin: open Manage Plugins to review its scan state or location.
  • Avoid rescanning in the middle of a live session unless necessary.
2

CHAIN

Place plugins in the right processing stage

VOCALMain vocal

Pitch, EQ, compression, de-essing, and direct microphone processing.

VOCAL FXSpace and effects

Vocal sends for reverb/delay, keeping the wet signal separately controlled.

MUSICBacking track

EQ or level control that affects music only.

MASTERFinal output

Gentle bus compression/limiting for the combined vocal and music mix.

idolLiveAudio Vocal, Music, FX, and Master workspace
Full Mode keeps chains, Track Players, the Soundboard, and Master on one workspace.
Keep headroom

If meters stay red or the sound distorts, reduce the input/level before adding a limiter. A limiter cannot repair an already clipped input.

3

PRESET

Save and recall a setup

  1. Finish the chain and verify each plugin's ON/OFF state.
  2. Choose Save Preset and use a recognizable name, such as voice + genre + microphone.
  3. Assign frequently used presets to Slots for quick switching during a live session.

When loading a preset containing Waves or another large plugin, wait for loading to finish. A plugin can need a few seconds to initialize and read its license; do not click Load repeatedly.

4

IMPORT / EXPORT

Back up or move to another PC

  • Export Preset: saves an .ilapreset file to a location you choose.
  • Import Preset: adds an .ilapreset file to this PC's preset library.
  • The destination PC must still have the required plugins and valid vendor licenses.
A preset does not include plugin installers

The preset stores the chain and settings; it does not package third-party VST3 files or licenses.
